MDCAT Aggregate Calculator

Updated By the ProAcademy Tools editorial team3 min read

Calculate your MBBS and BDS admission aggregate in seconds. The calculator uses the standard weighting of 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc and 10% Matric, and lets you change the weights for colleges with a different policy.

Quick answer

The standard MDCAT aggregate = 50% MDCAT + 40% FSc (HSSC) + 10% Matric (SSC), each taken as a percentage of its total. With MDCAT 152/180, FSc 1010/1100 and Matric 1050/1100, the aggregate is 42.222 + 36.727 + 9.545 = 88.495%.

How to use the MDCAT aggregate calculator

  1. Enter your MDCAT marks out of 180 (the MDCAT total from 2025).
  2. Enter your FSc / HSSC marks and your board total — usually 1100, or 1200 under newer schemes. For FSc Part 1 only, use your Part 1 marks and total.
  3. Enter your Matric / SSC marks and total.
  4. Keep the standard 50-40-10 weighting, or choose custom weights if your college uses a different formula.
  5. Compare your aggregate with the latest closing merit list for your target colleges.

MDCAT aggregate formula

Aggregate (%) = (MDCAT obtained ÷ MDCAT total) × 50 + (FSc obtained ÷ FSc total) × 40 + (Matric obtained ÷ Matric total) × 10

Worked example

Component Marks Percentage Weight Contribution
MDCAT 152 / 180 84.444% 50% 42.222
FSc 1010 / 1100 91.818% 40% 36.727
Matric 1050 / 1100 95.455% 10% 9.545
Aggregate 88.495%

Merit lists are often separated by tiny margins, so the calculator shows three decimal places.

How much does each part matter?

Because MDCAT carries half the weight, one MDCAT mark adds about 0.278 aggregate points (50 ÷ 180). By comparison, ten extra FSc marks out of 1100 add about 0.364, and ten extra Matric marks add about 0.091. Once your FSc and Matric results are fixed, MDCAT is the only lever left — which is why every additional correct answer counts.

Who sets the formula?

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) sets the admission policy for MBBS and BDS, and MDCAT is conducted by designated universities in each province — for example UHS in Punjab and KMU in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Public and private colleges, armed-forces institutions such as NUMS, and special quotas can use different weightings or merit lists. Always confirm the current year’s admission policy on the official PMDC and admitting-university websites.

What aggregate do I need for MBBS?

Closing merit changes every year with the number of seats, the difficulty of the paper and the number of candidates. Top public medical colleges in Punjab have historically closed in the low-to-mid 90s, while many private colleges close considerably lower. Compare your result against the most recent official merit lists rather than older years, and apply to a realistic spread of colleges.

Engineering and other entry tests

Engineering universities and NUST use their own entry tests and weightings (for example ECAT for UET, NET for NUST). Use the custom weights option for a quick estimate, and see our Pakistan GPA & CGPA calculator for university grades.

MDCAT aggregate examples

MDCAT (of 180) FSc (of 1100) Matric (of 1100) Aggregate
170 1050 1080 95.22%
160 1030 1060 91.54%
150 1000 1040 87.48%
140 980 1020 83.80%
130 950 1000 79.75%
120 900 950 74.70%

Improving your aggregate before admissions

After FSc and Matric results are final, only MDCAT can change, and each correct MCQ is worth about 0.28 aggregate points. A few targeted points can move you up many positions on a merit list, because merit lists are often separated by hundredths of a percent. Revise from the official MDCAT syllabus published for your year, practise full timed papers, and prioritise high-weight subjects such as Biology and Chemistry. Re-sitting MDCAT is possible in a later year, and generally only your new score is used for that admission cycle — confirm the rule in the current admission policy.

Frequently asked questions

How is the MDCAT aggregate calculated?

Take each result as a percentage of its total, then weight them: 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc (HSSC) and 10% Matric (SSC). Add the three contributions to get your aggregate out of 100.

What is the MDCAT total marks?

MDCAT is out of 180 marks (180 multiple-choice questions, one mark each) from 2025. Earlier papers had totals of 200 or 210, so use the total printed on your result card.

Is Matric included in the MDCAT aggregate?

Under the standard formula, Matric counts for 10%. If your admitting authority uses a different policy, choose custom weights and set Matric to 0.

How many aggregate points is one MDCAT mark worth?

With a 50% weight and a 180-mark paper, each MDCAT mark is worth about 0.278 aggregate points.

What aggregate is needed for government medical colleges?

It changes every year. Top public colleges have historically closed in the low-to-mid 90s. Check the latest official merit lists from UHS, KMU or your provincial admitting university.

Sources and methodology

Uses the standard 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc and 10% Matric weighting with MDCAT out of 180. Weights are editable because policies can change by year, province and institution.
