Editorial & Accuracy Policy
How we research, build, test and correct every calculator on this site.
Our standards
- Official sources first. We base each calculator on the published method of the body that owns it: admissions centres (such as VTAC and UCAS), exam boards and testing organisations (such as CBSE and College Board), regulators (such as HEC and PMDC) and university grading regulations. Each calculator lists its sources at the bottom of the page.
- Show the working. Every calculator page explains the formula and includes at least one worked example a reader can check by hand.
- Label estimates clearly. Some results cannot be calculated exactly — for example SAT and AP conversions, which change by test form or year, and conversions between countries’ grading scales. These tools say “estimate” and explain why.
- Test before publishing. Each calculator is checked against known answers — including the worked examples on its page — on desktop and mobile before it goes live.
- Review regularly. Data that changes every year, such as ATAR scaling tables and MDCAT totals, is reviewed when the new official figures are published. Each page shows the date it was last updated.
What we do not do
- We do not present estimates as official results.
- We do not let advertisers influence content or calculations.
- We do not store or sell the grades you enter — calculations happen in your browser.
Corrections
If you find an error, please contact us with the page, your inputs and the expected result. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly and the page’s “Updated” date changes when we do.
